You are looking at a map of the city of Washington in the District of Columbia : established as the permanent seat of the government of the United States of America / taken from actual survey, as laid out on the ground, by R't King, surveyor of the City of Washington ; engraved by C. Schwarz, Wash'n. It was created in 1818.

Shows block numbers. Relief shown by hachures. "Entered according to Act of Congress by R't King, District of Columbia." Includes ill. of White House and Capitol. LC copy 1 soiled, torn, halved, mounted on cloth backing, and annotated in ink on verso: A map of the city of Washington deposited by Robert King in a chancery suit: Robert King aga. Peter Force.
