Here for your consideration is an intriguing chart of the Virginia Central Railroad, west of the Blue Ridge, and the preliminary surveys, with a profile of the grades. It was taken Richmond, Va., Lith. of L. F. Citti in the 1860's.
Map shows Waynesboro and Covington with rivers, roads, railroad network, county names, and borders. Distances are indicated at lower right of map. Consolidated in 1868 into the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad.
