Here for your enjoyment is a one-of-a-kind chart of Confederate and Federal lines around Petersburg / made under the direction of Col. W. H. Stevens, Chf. Engr., Army of Northern Virginia, 186-. It was created in the 1860;s.

Petersburg (Va.).

The map shows roads, fortifications, houses, names of residents, and rivers. Indicates Union and Confederate positions in color. Indicates location of Confederate artillery. This map was in the possession of Jedediah Hotchkiss at the time of his death. Major Hotchkiss served as a topographic engineer with the Army of Northern Virginia.
