D. Bache, Superintendent of the survey of the coast of the United States. Triangulation by C. O. Boutelle, Assist. Topography by John Seib, Asst. & C. Rockwell, Sub-Asst. Hydrography by the parties under the command of Lieuts. Comdg. J. N. Maffitt, J. P. Bankhead, U.S.N., C. O. Boutelle & W. S. Edwards, Assts. Coast Survey. It was created in 1864.
