Here for your consideration is a stunning image of supplementary reconnaissance of the approaches to Philadelphia by the West-Chester Road : including the section from Newtown Square to the east branch of the Brandywine Creek / made under the direction of A.D. Bache, Eng'r in Charge of the Defenses of Philadelphia ; by Henry L. Whiting, Asst. U.S. Coast Survey. It was made in 1863.
