Harrisburg to Pittsburgh Railroad

Map of the projected Harrisburg to Pittsburgh Railroad

Here we present a stunning chart of the projected railway from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh with proposed extension to Cleveland, Wooster, Sandusky, Toledo, Cincinnati; Michigan City, Chicago, Galena, Rock Island, St. Louis, &a; in connection with the public works of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. It was made in the 1840's and covers area between Massachusetts and Virginia and out to the Mississippi River. The map indicates "finished" and "proposed" railroad lines. A mileage chart entitled "Rail Road Routes from Seaboard to the Interior" is included. Harrisburg to Pittsburgh Railroad is part of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
