You are looking at a moving map of Antietam / prepared by Bvt. Brigadier Genl. N. Michler, Major of Engineers, from surveys under his direction, by order of Brigadier Genl. & Bvt. Major Genl. A. A. Humphreys, Chief of Engineers, and under the authority of the Honorable Secretary of War, 1867; surveyed and drawn by Maj: J. E. Weyss, It was made in 1867.

Antietam (Md.).

Relief shown by hachures. Map is annotated by hand to show the Confederate positions in red. This map was in the possession of Jedediah Hotchkiss at the time of his death. Major Hotchkiss served as topographic engineer with the Army of Northern Virginia. In July 1948, the Library of Congress purchased his map collection. Scale 1:21,120.
